Here at LRB birthday central, we pride ourselves on the loose interpretation of the truth and never let it get in the way of a good story or photo manipulation. Not surprisingly, we were a bit premature in jocularity with Jim Wakefield's opportunity to be mocked. Jim's birthday is actually today, February 8th, not this past Saturday as previously indicated. His foray into barbershop quartet singsongs and the unlikely grouping of Jim, Zsa Zsa, Axl and Rip Torn was comical but purely coincidental.
